Splitting Hairs

Chad and Devin couldn't resist the chance to show the boys how to "split a hair in water". Seth thought it was funny, but Ryan was clearly not in the mood for a little afternoon humor.

Shelling Peas

Daddy Bob and Ann supplied us with fresh veggies out of the garden this summer. Ryan and Seth had fun shelling peas on the front porch.....

....and shucking corn on my Granny's back porch.

Edisto Island

Our annual trip to SC was almost cancelled due to Devin's AllStar tournament in Owensboro. However, in a last minute rush, we loaded up without Chad and Devin and took off to our favorite spot with our friend Tangie and her daughter Rileigh. It was a fun time, but I felt guilty with the other half of my family 800 miles away.
Rileigh turned out to be quite the crabbing expert. She cought this crab the very first day. Literally dug him out of his hole with her bare hands. Once he shot out of his hole (and I screamed loud enough for the whole Bay to turn their heads), Ryan snatched him up in the net.
June and July are busy months for the Sea Turtles. These partitions were up and down the beach. We could have taken a guided walk with a federal game officer to sneak a peak at them digging their nests at night, but no kids were allowed.
Sunset on the bay side of the island. The wind was CRAZY.
Tangie and Rileigh....they left the other half of their family at home too.

The Cincinatti Reds

In July, Chad took Devin and Ryan to see the Reds play the Mets. Devin caught a homerun ball during their batting practice. He has NO idea who was batting at the time!
On their way home, they stopped at The Louisville Slugger Museum.

Baseball 2008

Ryan played for the Tigers this season. He really built alot of confidence this season, despite the shiner he received in preseason. We were scared that would make him gun shy, but it didnt slow him down a bit.
His team placed 3rd in their league.

Devin played for the Twins. He had an awesome coach this season. His team placed 2nd in their league.

Seth played for the Angels. He learned how to NOT make sandcasltes while in the infield this season.

He also mastered sliding into home....as you can see.

Devin managed to make AllStars despite the politics! Way to go Devin!
