he shouldnt have done that...

road rash before they debried it
starting his i.v and xrays, they treated him SOOO good.

his temporary cast to get him through the weekend

it all sunk in and THEN he got upset. he had a football tourney in Lexington the next morning and had to be at the school at 6:00 a.m. and he WAS NOT GOING TO PLAY. (he went though!)

the "morpheine eyes" :)

three days later...this is when we found out it wasnt broken. yeah!

so swollen!

So, we go to a surprise birthday party for my friend Jane. All adults are having a good time indoors while the boys ( and pretty little Peyton ) were playing football outside...or so we thought. The football had transferred to a joyride on a go cart WITHOUT parental knowledge OR permission. So, Devin is a passenger (luckily he had SOME sense to put on the seatbelt) in this swift moving peice of metal. They take a curve too fast and flip the thing over. Needless to say, we spent the rest of the night in the E.R. We went the weekend with the diagnosis of a broken elbow only to get some great news on Monday when the Ortho said it was NOT broken. Yeah. two weeks to heal instead of 6-12 weeks. He was really lucky that it hadnt been worse....much worse.

an autograph from AD

Mindy and Steve live next door to Adalius Thomas's aunt and uncle. On their last trip up to New England, Mindy and Steve bought a Patriots football with the intention of having their neighbors getting it autographed for Devin. So, sure enough, the next time they visited with AD, he autographed this football for Devin. How cool is that? Thanks Mindy and Steve!

Fenway Park, July 25th 2009

On our way in, we parked a good few minutes walk from the park, so we took a pedicab part of the way. Ryan LOVED it. Eight of us went to the game so we had to take two vehicles. Chad, Devin and Seth rode with our cousin Kevin. Well, Kevin has a friend that owns a sausage cart. He let them park right behind the stadium (thru the police barriers) for FREE. WE got separated, or we would have done the same. I think Ryan is glad he got to ride the pedicab though. :)
